About me

Greetings! I am Kaden Spletzer, a cyber-security and programming enthusiast. I've been interested in technology since a young age when my grandma first introduced me to a computer by playing a "Clifford the Big Red Dog" game on the internet.

Academics

Since then, I've focused on the technology field. I'm a graduate of MITT (Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology) from their CDCA program (Cyber Defense and Cloud Administration). I am a graduate of PTEC (Pembina Trails Early College). PTEC is a high school program that teaches students from Grades 9-12 cybersecurity, networking, and programming.

CyberPatriot and CyberTitan

During my years at PTEC, I engaged in 3 CyberPatriot competitions. I focused on Windows system hardening, specifically Windows Server. I became a CyberTitan finalist during my last competition in 2022 and competed in the Canadian finals. The team I was part of came in 1st in Western Canada and 4th overall in the 2021-2022 CyberTitan competition (PTEC Sweats).

From 2023-Current, I have mentored teams at my former highschool in CyberPatriot and CyberTitan. I mainly focus on teaching security practices and general configuration for windows based systems and assist in mentoring and explaining networking related concepts with a focus on cisco hardware.

Hobbies

I have a few hobbies. I enjoy playing video games, so I try to keep myself up to date with the newest hardware and games that come out. My all-time favorite game would have to be Minecraft, which I run my minecraft server for. Home networking and self-hosting are interests of mine, they allow me to exercise my knowledge of cyber security and networking at home. I try to keep myself busy at home with technology related projects. I also enjoy participating in online capture the flag (CTF) events with friends.
